Hybrid courses are growing in popularity. In order to be considered hybrid, at least 50%of the class time is face-to-face. The other 50% is online with instructors giving assignments through the PRCC Blackboard. If you would like to see a hybrid course offered in a particular content area, we encourage you to contact the department chair of that instructional area.
Types of Classes

| Traditional | Meets every class period face to face. "Every class period" may mean MWF or TR. | 100% face to face |
| Traditional Night | Meets one night per week. | 100% face to face |
| Traditional Weekend | Meets two Friday evenings, two Saturdays (all day), two Sunday afternoons, and one Friday for the final exam. | 100% face to face |
| *Block | Classes meet for consistent period of time. For example: five days a week from 8am until 5pm for two weeks. | 100% face to face |
| Online | All work is done via online communication. Most students never see the instructor. | 100% online |
| **Hybrid | Students experience both traditional and online settings. | At least 50% of the class time is traditional. |
| **Hybrid Night | Students experience both traditional night class and online settings. | At least 50% of the class time is traditional. |
| **Hybrid Weekend | Students experience both traditional weekend class and online settings | At least 50% of the class time is traditional. |
* Block classes are primarily offered in career and technical programs.
** Hybrid classes are in their infancy at Pearl River. We expect them to grow in the coming semesters.
